MARKHAM, ON, Jan. 8 /CNW/ - VIQ Solutions Inc. ("VIQ Solutions" or the "Corporation") (TSX Venture: VQS) announced today that Spark & Cannon Australasia Pty Limited ("Spark & Cannon"), the Corporation's wholly-owned Australian subsidiary, has been awarded a contract by the Western Australia Industrial Relations Commission ("WAIRC") for the provision of court recording and transcription services. The exclusive contract, which commenced on January 2, 2007, has a term of one year with three additional one-year terms. The contract is worth AUS $848,702 over the four-year contract term.
The WAIRC is an independent quasi-judicial tribunal established to deal with industrial matters in the State of Western Australia by conciliation or, if necessary, arbitration. The main objective of the WAIRC is to prevent and settle industrial disputes.
