MARKHAM, ON May 28, 2009 - VIQ Solutions Inc. ("VIQ Solutions" or the "Corporation") (TSX
Venture: VQS) announced today that International Reporting Inc. ("International Reporting"), the
Corporation's wholly-owned Canadian court reporting and transcription subsidiary, has been awarded a
contract by the National Energy Board of Canada ("NEB") for the provision of bilingual court reporting
and transcription services. Established in 1959, the NEB operates as a court of record receiving
submissions, reviewing testimony and reporting to the Canadian Parliament through the Minister of Natural
Resources, providing advice on energy policy and on specific matters relating to inter-provincial and
international regulation of the oil, gas, and electric industries, in the public interest.
The contract has a term of three years with two options to extend for an additional year each. Its value to
International Reporting is estimated by the NEB to be $963,000 over the three-year term, with each oneyear
option estimated at an additional $321,000. This is the third successive multi-year contract awarded to
International Reporting by the NEB.
"International Reporting is pleased to have this opportunity to continue, through the utilization of VIQ
Solutions' digital recording and Netscribe transcription solutions, to provide the NEB with the high
standard of professional court reporting and transcription services to which the NEB has become
accustomed since we first began working with them seven years ago" said Barry Prouse, President and
General Manager of International Reporting. "The awarding of this contract demonstrates International
Reporting's position as a market leader in the provision of high quality court reporting and transcription
solutions," added Mr. Prouse.
This is the latest in a series of contracts recently awarded to International Reporting, including a contract to
provide similar services for the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission ("CNSC"), and, most recently, a
contract to provide both the English and French transcripts for the on-going Khmer Rouge Trials in
Cambodia, awarded by the United Nation's Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials ("UNAKRT").
